Peers
How to Add a Peer?
- Use the Search peers and groups button on the top right corner of every page to find peers you may know.
- Search peers from Peers page (in the top menu) then click on Find Peers tab. You can search peers by one or more attributes such as: Name, Profession, Organization, Location, and Specialty.
- Click on Add button next to the searched peer. You can also send multiple requests byselecting the checkbox to the left of the peers' photo and clicking the Add button on the bottom left corner of the search result page.
- A peer request will be sent to that person. Once they confirm the request, they willbe added in your network and will show up on your Peers list.
Clinical Café gives you a list of possible peers based on the profile match. You can add that possible peer as your peer. Just click on Add as a Peer.
How to Accept/Decline a peer request(s)?
- The numbers of peer requests on your profile will show up in right top column of your home page.Click on the request- e.g.2 Peer Requests.
- You can Accept or Decline the peer request by clicking on Accept or Decline.
- You can also view the peer's profile by clicking on their name.
How to Chat with a peer?
Clinical Cafe chat dock will appear on every page of Clinical Cafe. "Who's online" provides quick links for chatting with your online peers. Just click on the peer and start chatting. To edit Chat options, click Clinicalcafe Chat Options on the bottom bar.
How to Search your added peers?
- Go to Peers from the top menu.
OR
- Go to My Profile from the top tab bar.
- Click on Peers tab.
How to Invite Peers?
- You can invited peers from your home page. Or, go to Peers from the topmenu or Go to My Profile page, click on the Peers tab, and click on View all link.
- Click on Invite Peers tab.
- You can invite peers from your Web Contact List or by typing in their email addresses.
- Click on the Web Contact List button, select the Email Providers or Social Networks from the drop down menu.
- Type in the Username and Password for the Email Provider or Social Network that you selected.
- Click on Get contacts button.
- Your contact list from the selected Email Provider or Social Network will be displayed.
- Check the button to select peers that you would like to invite.
- You can also send them a personalized message. (Optional)
- Click on Invite button.
- An email invite will be sent to all your selected peers.
OR
- To Invite peers using their email addresses, click on Email Addresses button.
- Type in the email addresses separated by a comma.
- You can also send them a personalized message. (Optional)
- Click on Invite button.
- An email invite will be sent to all the email addresses typed.
Shares
How to Post a new Share?
- On home page, click on Share tab in the left navigation menu.
- Select the type of Share:Idea, Success Story, and Best Practice.
- Select a Category and a sub-category, if applicable. You can select Other if there are no known category to the share.
- Type a title, your Share, and references (optional)
- Just click on Browse and you can attach a document or a file. Valid document formats: .doc, .pdf, .docx, .jpg, .png, .gif, .txt
- You can also Preview your share to see what your Share will look like.
- Click Share.
- While on the same tab, you will also see Share regarding updates from you, your peers, and Clinical Cafe.
How to Search posted Shares?
- Go to Knowledge Share from the top tab bar.
- The recent shares will be listed on Knowledge Share.
- For all shares, click on Member Content on the left panel.
- You can also view your peers' shares by going in to their profile and clicking on Peer's Shares on the bottom tab bar.
How to Ask a question?
- On home page, Click on Questions and Responses tab in the left navigation menu.
- Type your questions and click on Ask Question.
- While on the same tab, you can see the list of recent questions and responses posted.
How to Answer a question?
- On home page, Click on Questions &Responses tab in the left navigation menu.
- All the answered questions in your network will be listed. You can search for any questions and answers within your network using the Search box.
- While in the same tab, you can answer a question using the Respond button and rate the answers using the Rate button.
- Recent Questions & Answers will also be displayed under Updates tab.
How to Play B2 games?
- Go to B2from the top tab bar.
- Just click Play on any of the games.
- For more information regarding the games, hover your mouse over Info.
- Your game score will be posted on Leader Board in B2.
Account Settings
How to Add a profile picture?
- Go to My Profile from the top tab bar.
- Click on Edit Detail inside the left red box.
- Browse the picture from your computer that you want to upload. Valid picture format: .jpg, .gif, and .png
- Save the picture.
- Crop the picture if needed.
How to Modify my profile?
- Go to My Profile from the top tab bar.
- Click on Edit Details inside the left red box and click on Personal Information tab.
- Now, you can modify your personal information.
- To edit Areas of Interest, Education, Certification, and Job History -click on Edit button below each category under the About Me tab.
How to control which emails I receive from Clinical Cafe?
- Go to my My profile page from the top menu.
- Click on Edit Details inside the left red box and click on Email Preferences tab.
- Simply unselect the check box next to a category for which you would not like to receive email. Or just unselect the check box if you would like to receive email for that selected category.
- Click on Save
Groups FAQ
How do I Create a User Group?
- Go to Groups from the top menu or click on Groups tab from your profile page.You will see a list of your owned groups and your joined groups.
- To create your own group, click on Create Group tab.
- Fill in the information such as Group Name, Summary, and Group Type. You can also upload your group image.
- Click on Save button.
How do I Edit a created User Group?
- Go to Groups from the top menu or click on Groups tab from your profile page. You will see a list of your owned groups and your joined groups.
- You can only edit your owned groups. Click on the group that you would like to edit or click on Edit Group link.
- You can now edit the required fields; you can also change the Group logo by clicking on browse button.
- Click on Save button.

How to Upload a document in owned and joined groups?
- From the top bar click on Groups or click on Groups tab from your profile page.
- A list of owned and joined groups will appear. Click on the group that you would like to upload a document in.
- From that particular group page, click on Documents tab; you will now see a list of uploaded documents.
- You can now upload a document by typing in your document title, description. Click on the Browse button to upload a document.
- If you would like to notify the group members of the document upload, check the Notify group members box. Uncheck the box if would do not want to notify the group members.
- Just click on Save button
How to Start a discussion in owned and joined groups?
- From the top bar click on Groups or click on Groups tab from your profile page.
- A list of owned and joined groups will appear. Click on the group that you would like to start a discussion in.
- From that particular group page, click on Discussions tab; you will now see a list of discussions within your group.
- Click onStart a discussion link; type in the discussion title and the description. Click onSubmit
Personal Messaging System
How do I send a message?
You can send a message to your Clinical Café peer only.
- Go to the "Inbox" tab in the top menu bar.
- Click on "Compose" tab in the left navigation bar.
- Enter the name of your peer.
- Type a subject and a message.
- Click "Send". Your peer/peers you send the message to will be notified via email and the next time they log in to Clinical Café.
Can I attach a document to the message?
You currently cannot attach document to your messages.
Twitter FAQ
Twitter integration allows you to share your twitter messages with your Clinical Café peers. You can follow your Clinical Café peer's tweets right from your Clinical Café profile.
How do I add my twitter account?
To add your Twitter account, go to dashboard page and click on the red twitter icon
. Twitter will ask you to verify your account name and password. Once the account is verified, your twitter account will now be linked inside your Clinical Café account
. Note that once your account is joined, you can remove the linkage by clicking on "Remove this twitter account".
Note: your tweets will be displayed to your peers once they log in.
What is a Share?
Share lets you share best practices, documents, ideas, and success stories across the expansive user community. All shared information is readily accessible/ searchable through knowledge share component of Clinical café. Shares also gets rated and commented.
What is Knowledge Share?
Knowledge Share contains a wealth of peer-generated and evidence based content for learning best practices across the healthcare industry. Knowledge Share has a vast database of whitepapers, books, newsletter, and much more. All the contents in Knowledge Share are searchable and are free.
What is B2?
B2, which stands for better + best, brings the recent health care issues in an interactive game format. Currently we have seven training modules:
